I am an emerging professional with a passion for social media, public engagement, and thoughtful collections management/care. I believe in the power of social media to connect people, objects, and stories. I strongly believe that, if museums are to survive beyond the 21st century, they must adapt and evolve to utilize platforms like Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and Periscope to bring an ever-expanding audience closer to their collections, to connect to the objects held in the public trust. I also believe in the fundamental necessity of the deaccessioning process, and the need for the stigma of this process to be removed for museums to continue to thrive. I'm also interested in bringing more museum professionals into the realm of social media to interact with the public. Part-time Jedi.
